3. Practice swimming technique 3,
Trace water. Tracing the water can help you catch your breath and keep your head above the water without needing to swim. Perform the eggbeater motion as above, and use your hands to maintain balance by "paddling" - keep your upper arms straight on the surface of the water, and imagine your hands like butter knives on bread. Move one hand clockwise, and the other hand counterclockwise.
